Role

Gill is a kaiako | lecturer on the Bachelor of Teaching (Primary) programme.


Education Background

Gill has been a kaiako for over 25 years mostly in the primary space. She has taught in schools both in Liverpool and New Zealand, teaching across years 0 - 10. She has taught in many schools including private schools. Gill has held many roles within schools, including team leader, and management responsibilities including Teacher Second in Charge.


Research Background

Gill is passionate about equity for all ākonga in the classroom. She believes it is important that all ākonga are given the opportunity to thrive and achieve in school.


Teaching Interests

As a passionate teacher, Gill believes that true education extends beyond academic achievement, it is about cultivating a lifelong love of learning within a vibrant, inclusive community. Her practice is anchored in the belief that an enriching environment is built on a foundation of full engagement, determination, respect, kindness, honesty, and open communication.
