Te Rito Maioha invites dedicated educators to join our team and make a meaningful impact on the next generation of kaiako. Whether you’re interested in teaching or professional roles, we offer a range of rewarding opportunities across Aotearoa.

Join our teaching staff at one of 11 Regional Education Centres and help deliver programmes that integrate te reo Māori, tikanga, and child-centred learning. You’ll be part of a collaborative, supportive environment that values your contribution to learners and communities.

We also have diverse roles at our National Office in areas such as policy, learning design and delivery, student administration, financial management, marketing and communications, human resources, and general management.

Pouako Heretaunga

As a Pouako, you will undertake the full teaching and academic responsibilities of a lecturer, including teaching within Mātauranga Māori papers. You will also provide cultural leadership to tauira and kaimahi within the rohe. You will play a key role in shaping the next generation of teachers by delivering high quality, culturally responsive education, supporting student success, and embedding te Tiriti o Waitangi and Māori perspectives into teaching and learning practice.

Kaituitui | Māori Capability Advisor - Wellington

Te Rito Maioha is grounded in Te Tiriti o Waitangi and committed to advocacy, teaching, delivery of world class education for tamariki, whānau, kaiako and ECE services, and strengthening bicultural integrity across our organisation and the early childhood sector. Our kaupapa recognises the responsibility we hold to ensure te ao Māori is reflected not only in our words, but in our systems, relationships and everyday practice. We are seeking a capable Māori practitioner to join our National Office team in a role that supports the implementation and alignment of Te Kōkiri Tikanga Rua and related kaupapa across Te Tari Matua and in connection with takiwā.

Regional Education Leader – Wellington

Lead and mentor a diverse group of lecturers to deliver our high-quality Initial Teacher Education programmes. You will undertake a range of activities to support our students and members including; teaching at the Undergraduate, Graduate or Postgraduate level; undertaking evaluative assessment visits; coordinating events including noho marae, graduation, and professional development.
