This event will provide an opportunity for emerging researchers to showcase their research projects. Participants can expect to be offered a range of short presentations on a range of subject matter relevant to the education sector.

Come and join our wonderful Manukau takiwā ako staff and guest speakers to this research symposium event which provides an opportunity for emerging researchers to showcase their research projects.

Participants can expect to be offered a range of short presentations on a range of subject matter relevant to the education sector.

There will be an opportunity to connect with other kaiako as well as exploring postgraduate studies.

Programme for the Day

  • Arrive by 9.30am

  • We will start with our 1st keynote presentation – Trauma Informed Teaching

  • Then proceed with 6 of the research presentations

  • Break for lunch and refreshments

  • A 2nd keynote presentation – The importance of teacher belonging in ECE

  • Move into the last section of the day - final 6 research presentations

  • Finish at 3pm

Research Topics for the day include:

  • Gen-AI in primary schools

  • Nurturing Pacific children’s identity in ECE

  • Education for sustainability – teachers understandings and practices

  • Neurodiversity in ECE, primary and tertiary

  • Mentoring and Leadership

  • And more ……

Attendees will:

  • Explore current research projects relevant to teaching and learning in Aotearoa and beyond.

  • Connect with fellow kaiako and researchers to share ideas, experiences, and practice.

  • Consider how research findings can inform and enhance your own teaching and learning approaches.

  • Learn about opportunities for further study and how to begin or continue your own research journey.

This PLD event is suitable for Kaiako/Teachers and Masters Tauira/Students in early education and primary education.
