Participants will have the opportunity to wānanga on their own experiences and contribute to a growing understanding of what relational leadership might look like within their own practice.

This PLD event is suitable for all ECE kaiako who a wanting to develop an understanding of leadership from a relational and te ao Māori worldview.

The learning objectives of this PLD event are:

To gain knowledge, skills and/or strategies to enable kaiako to:

  • Understand concepts of relational leadership.
  • Develop knowledge of Māori leadership from a relational perspective
  • Contribute to a growing understanding of what relational leadership might look like within own practice.

Presenter: Debbie Ryder

Programme Leader Masters Education - Kaitiaki Hōtaka, Te Rito Maioha

Debbie Ryder is a senior lecturer and Programme Leader of the master’s Programme at Te Rito Maioha ECNZ. Debbie brings knowledge and experience from her research lecturing and practice, thesis student supervision and leadership PLD.

Lecturer Kaiako, Te Rito Maioha

Lauren Graham is a lecturer at Te Rito Maioha. Lauren is a qualified ECE teacher with experience in a range of settings in Aotearoa and abroad. Lauren also holds a master’s degree in applied practice, specialising in future technology.
