This webinar focuses on teaching children from whānau who face economic disadvantage and, in some cases, live in poverty. This is an opportunity for ECE kaiako to share and discuss their own teaching experiences, including the challenges. We will also share what current research tells us about teaching in this area of diversity so teachers can become part of the solution and not part of the problem.
This PLD event will suit Student ECE teachers and qualified ECE teachers.
The learning goals you will achieve from this live webinar will be:
- You will be able to share and discuss challenges that you face in your teaching.
- You will learn what the latest research tells us about poverty and ECE.
- You will reflect on your own values and beliefs in relation to poverty.
- You will learn what you can do to support tamariki and whānau who face economic hardship.
