Whangarei - Wednesday 13 May 2026 - 5.30pm-7.30pm
ENGAGE is a play-based approach to teaching self-regulation, focused on fostering mokopuna’s skills, attitudes, learning dispositions, and working theories within a fun play-based framework. Tamariki and kaiako intentionally play fun games which develop and strengthen self-regulation skills.
This is an interactive workshop for those kaiako new to ENGAGE. We reflect on the research behind ENGAGE, the importance of games in our own development, and the self-regulation skills which are important for your centre.
Kaiako will be given a set of game cards, and a range of those games will be played throughout the workshop to demonstrate the programme’s approach.
