Education Background
Shelley is a dedicated and highly experienced practitioner, having worked in multiple roles throughout the Early Childhood Education sector in New Zealand and Australia.
Having worked extensively with both Te Whāriki and the Australian Early Years Framework and Queensland Kindergarten Framework, Shelley feels strongly that our commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi is what makes what we do and how we work the tamariki and whānau the aspiration of kaiako worldwide. We are leaders because we embrace indigenous knowledge and aspirations for tamariki.
Teaching Interests
Over her long teaching career, she has held leadership positions that involved mentoring and supporting teaching teams to build and grow their pedagogical practice and knowledge to enhance the learning outcomes for children. Her work has included working with small teams of 2 or 3, to larger teams of 15-20, and providing professional guidance and management to 22 Kindergartens within the Auckland Kindergarten Association.
