Role

Madoka guides, supports and tutors our tauira in the Heretaunga Hastings area. She also teaches and mentors her students in Bachelor of Teaching (ECE) Graduate Diploma of Teaching (ECE) and Master of Education.


Education Background

Madoka’s background includes Education Policy-making, running Education Organisation (Japan), Special Education Teaching, Secondary School Tutoring, Adult Teaching, and 18 years of Early Childhood teaching in both Japan and New Zealand.


Research Background

Upholding her value in inclusion, Madoka is interested in diversity influencing learning communities. Intercultural communication and super-diversity have always been of her interest. Cultural identity and Ibasho, a space where you can be yourself, were key notions of her doctorate. Currently, she has two main areas of diversity research: culture and disability.
