When completing my Master of Education, I focused on the impact of written reporting on the partnership between whānau and kura. I am extremely passionate about continuing to explore this relationship as I believe that empowering whānau within the learning partnership has significant potential. I am interested in further this research by exploring the impact of sharing standardised assessment data with whānau.

Teaching Interests

Teaching is based upon relationships. I always focus on developing positive, engaging relationships with students, whānau and my colleagues. Developing a sense of whānaungatanga is vital to all learning. I have strong curriculum content knowledge and believe that learning needs to be focused on effective teaching. I use formative practice to make sure that students know and understand what we are learning, why we are learning it, and what it looks like when we have got it.
