Bernard is a Lecturer for our primary tauira.

Education Background

Bernard has a strong intertest in Health and Physical Education having been on the Board of both PENZ and NZHEA. he has worked in primary education for just over thirty years as a teacher, Deputy Principal and Principal.

Research Background

Bernard has an interest in curriculum implementation and pedagogy, especially in the area of Health and Physical Education in primary teaching.

Teaching Interests

Bernard’s teaching philosophy centres on equipping children with the knowledge and skills they need to participate meaningfully in their whānau, communities, Aotearoa, and the wider world. Their aim is to support learners in becoming happy, confident, and creative members of New Zealand society as they grow.
