This webinar looks at the historical context of Te Whāriki, the Early childhood curriculum (2017). It explores in-depth the dual nature of each curriculum strand and supports you to identify what this looks like in your early learning setting.

Overseas trained teachers will gain a deeper understanding of the national curriculum Te Whāriki and culturally responsive teaching and learning in Aotearoa New Zealand's context. This course also offers a good refresher for kaiako trained in Aotearoa New Zealand.

Time to complete: 40 minutes - 1 hour

"As a Centre Manager I was looking for a webinar that could support all kaiako in my Centre to add to their kete of knowledge, refresh and reflect on Te Whāriki as well as their practices and the local curriculum. Overall a great webinar and as a team in lockdown we have been able to go through and reflect on these questions together."
