Toi tu te kupu, toi tu te mana, toi tu te whenua
Hold fast to Māori culture, for without language, without mana (spirit), and without land, the essence of being a Maori would no longer exist.
Nau mai haere mai, anei te karanga, akohia te reo Māori, kia ora te reo.
Te Rito Maioha ECNZ starting 1 February 2018 are offering fun and exciting professional development to support and grow competent and confident teachers of te reo Māori throughout the ece sector.
By 2025 Labour would like every ECE, Primary and Intermediate school to have Te Reo Māori integrated into their learning. To achieve this they are going to enable 3000 teachers a year to undertake te reo Māori courses, allowing them to strengthen their understanding of the language to a position where they can confidently integrate te reo into children’s learning.
Te Rito Maioha ECNZ’s pouako lead the delivery of the bicultural components of our programmes. We work closely alongside our kaumatua and kuia in our regions and we are excited about the opportunity to join you in your communities and in your centres with this wonderful kaupapa – kōrero Māori i ngā wā katoa, i ngā waahi katoa / speak Māori at all times, in all places.
