Call for abstracts
We would love to have you present at Te Rito Maioha’s 55th annual conference, and now is the time to submit your abstract!
The theme of this year’s conference is
ECE Innovation: Curriculum for today and tomorrow
Aronga whanokē kōhungahunga: Te marautanga ā kō ake nei
Below are some suggested themes for you to base your presentation and abstract on:
- Te Whāriki:
- Stories of change, stories of practice
- Making a difference (stories of influence and change)
- Unity and Strength
- Critical theory (challenging assumptions)
- Innovation in:
- Migrant and Refugee support and provision
- Infant and toddler
- Bicultural/kaupapa Maori
- Other “cutting edge” innovation
- Teaching practices
- Curriculum design
- Supporting tamariki to be lifelong learners
- Intentional teaching
- Philosophical teaching
- Digital technology curriculum and teaching.
Submitting your abstract

Please have your abstract to us by 23 March 2018.
We will send you a confirmation email once we have received your abstract.
Abstract review process
Review and selection of abstracts will take about four weeks.
We will be back in touch with you by early April 2018 to let you know what we’ve decided, whether your abstract has been selected or not.
Please note that if we accept your abstract, your conference registration must be completed and paid for by 11 May 2018. That will enable you to take advantage of our early bird registration, which closes on 1 June 2018.
