Early Childhood New Zealand Teachers College (ECNZ) was established in 1963 as an Association of early childhood education centres with a vision of high quality early childhood education for every child. The organisation has shaped New Zealand’s early childhood landscape and continues to influence policy and practice. It is a trusted advisor to the New Zealand government.

ECNZ is registered by the New Zealand Qualifications Authority as a Private Training Establishment. We are accredited and funded by government to complement the programmes offered by universities and polytechnics. The New Zealand Qualifications Authority has awarded us a category 1 External Evaluation Review. This provides assurance that we are a high quality provider and enables us to recruit international students into our programmes. ECNZ is one of New Zealand’s largest producers of early childhood teachers and has a strong reputation amongst employers.
