Australian and New Zealand ECE leaders and aspiring leaders share and co-construct leadership knowledge from experience in the two similar but different ECE contexts.

Students engage together online as well as in face-to-face block courses as a cohort within the wider Postgraduate Diploma in Leadership (ECE) programme.

The day after each block course, there are visits to ECE centres that provide added professional learning about best practice in both Australia and New Zealand.

Four 30-credit courses are taught consecutively over a 2-year period.

There are two compulsory block courses a year (one per course, 1.5 days each), with an additional orientation day for students new to the programme before the first block course in Wellington.

Once a year, students will need to cross the Tasman for a block course in the partner country in Week 1 of each year’s two semesters.

Students who graduate with the Postgraduate Diploma in Leadership (ECE) are eligible to staircase into a Level 9 master’s degree, with the four courses contributing to the first part of a master’s degree in both Australia and New Zealand.
