I am currently the Head Teacher in Te Maioha – the infant and toddler centre at Otago University Childcare Association. I have direct responsibility for the employment of 14 teachers. 
 
I graduated in 2001 and specialised in working with infants and toddlers, which is an area I am extremely passionate about. I believe strongly in a community-based approach to teaching and have developed a passion for and strength in curriculum implementation and assessment. 
 
During my time as a Head Teacher, I have worked for the University of Otago College of Education presenting professional development throughout the South Island, working as a visiting lecturer, and I have also taught the 'People under Three' paper with second year students.
