Diploma in Early Childhood Education in Nelson
We offer three ECE diplomas based on different learning techniques:

If you have trained overseas as a teacher, this course can acquaint you with the learning environment in Aotearoa|New Zealand. You will go through the foundations of teaching in NZ, such as details of the curriculum, assessment, and planning.

Bachelor of Education (ECE) in Nelson
Learn more about educational practices in Aotearoa|New Zealand with the Bachelor of Education (ECE).

Study topics such as ECE provision in NZ, the role of adults in ECE services, strategies that support academic study, human development theories, and more. The collection of knowledge gained through this course is helpful in roles such as support person for migrants and refugees, strategic planner, and youth worker.

This programme does not make you eligible to teach. If you change your mind after completing this degree and want to become a teacher, you can do so by adding on the Graduate Diploma of Teaching (ECE).

Bachelor of Teaching in Nelson
To become a kaiako, you will need to study towards a Bachelor of Teaching. We offer two options to
attain a Bachelor of Teaching degree:

  • Bachelor of Teaching (Primary)
  • Bachelor of Teaching (ECE)
