This Webinar explores the topic of teaching children who live on the lowest incomes. Recent theory and research will inform participants about what specialist writers and/or researchers in the ECE field are saying about poverty in ECE. The Webinar will also identify two key strategies for teaching practice that can support the inclusion of children living in poverty.  

Participants will 

  • gain a deeper understanding of poverty and how it is constructed. 
  • appreciate the responsibility to make a positive difference for children living in poverty
  • appreciate different perspectives of poverty, for example, the perspectives of children
  • learn about two key strategies for teaching practice which will support inclusion of those living in poverty
  • respond to reflective questions to provoke and inform thinking about own practice 

This webinar is suitable for student and qualified teachers.
