Pouhere Kaupapa Māori

Arapera has been employed with Te Rito Maioha Early Childhood New Zealand for over ten years. 

Her roles within the organisation have been as a Pouako, Subject Group leader, Curriculum Advisor and Base Coordinator on the Manukau Base. Arapera is currently involved in PD delivery within the Pasifika centres in South Auckland supporting them to meet the current ECE regulations. These roles have been key to her success in understanding the differences between management and governance, and have allowed her to develop strong leadership skills. 

Arapera also held a management role in a total immersion te reo Māori centre where she was involved in decision making, programme planning and staff recruitment. She brings to the organisation the ability to work confidently not only within the Māori community but also across the diverse cultures that exist within the wide Auckland region. Arapera has also represented Te Rito Maioha Early Childhood New Zealand nationally and internationally presenting at conferences.
